Adam Kuehl Photography
Adam Kuehl was born in Oak Park, Illinois. While obtaining a BFA and MFA in photography from SCAD, he worked for the university to produce award-winning lookbooks, national ad campaigns and coffee table books including Perfect Porches: Designing Welcoming Spaces for Outdoor Living (Clarkson Potter, 2010), Little Black Dress (Skira Rizzoli, 2013), Oscar de la Renta: His Legendary World of Fashion (Skira Rizzoli, 2015) and SCAD, The Architecture of a University (Assouline, 2017).
Although Kuehl thrives in photographing a variety of subjects, his work is rooted in nighttime landscapes. His series Savannah Nights has exhibited internationally and gained him inclusion in Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward Tenth as one of the Top 100 Emerging American Photographers. Kuehl was named 25 Under 25: Up-And-Coming American Photographers by the Center for Documentary Studies. His commercial work has appeared in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Vogue, PDN, National Geographic Traveler among many others.
Kuehl moved to Hong Kong in 2016 where he worked as a photography professor for SCAD. While overseas, he continued to work commercially producing images for clients including Louis Vuitton Hong Kong, Lanvin, Restoration Hardware, and JJABA. Kuehl moved back to the States in 2020 and continues to work as a freelance photographer based in Savannah, GA.
